The NCA Exams and Your Path to Canadian Bar Admission

The NCA process allows you to transfer your foreign legal education to Canada. Whether you wish to practice as a lawyer, or work in a capacity that requires legal qualifications, the NCA exams is your first step on your path to Canadian bar admission.

Submit your foreign legal qualifications for assessment by the National Committee on Accreditation (which takes 10-15 weeks)
Register for and write the NCA exams indicated on your file. In addition to the 5 Core Courses (Administrative Law, Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, Foundations of Canadian Law, Professional Responsibility) you may be required to take additional tests to show competency.
NCA Exam results are released 2-3 months later.
